Branch banks come in many different configurations. Drive thrus, ATM drive thrus, and drive up to name a few. Banks generally get built from the inside out. That is, the vault gets constructed first, and then everything else around it. Today's vaults are made from precast or cast-in-place concrete with extra-strength concrete and reinforcing bar and/or sheet steel for extra protection.

With a construction schedule of 3-4 months at most, many things have to come together for grand opening. Teller lines generally have a great deal of casework and cabinetry. Offices and main lobby areas are trimmed out with crown mold and various accent trim pieces. Some banks get bullet proof glass treatments as well as specialized security systems. Concrete work can get a little intensive with steel/concrete bollards protecting everthing from atm machines to pneumatic tube systems at the exterior.
