A growing community such as Westfield, IIndiana required major renovations and additions to their school system. This project was no exception. The project consisted of attaching two schools together that were about 7 feet different iin elevation. A central core building was constructed to attach a middle school and an elementary school together.

The building has a series or stairs and ramps to transition between the two elevations. A curtain wall section and high ceilings give this connecting corridor an open appearance.

Since school had to remain open at all time, this project was done in three phases. The west building was gutted and rebuilt while students attended class in the east building. Upon completion of the west building and connector building, students were moved iin and work began on the east building. each phase lasted one year.
