The new Mapleton Station Post office is a structural steel building with masonry veneer.  The Mapleton Station is located in the 2600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on the cities near west side. The building serves as an anchor for the adjacent neighborhood.

The Post Office replaces the Old Mapleton Station (34th and Graceland) and adds a upgraded lobby with more P.O. Boxes. An automated stamp machine area and weigh stations help make the operation efficient. But the lobby is only a small part of this full service post office. Loading docks on the back side of the building an accommodate the largest of mail trucks. 

A full sorting area in the back warehouse helps handle the forcasted mail load. Offices, break rooms and security areas are all added features. An off-site parking lot is utilized to keep congestion to a minimum.
