Hancock Courthouse

Greenfield, IN

Located one block south of the Hancock County courthouse in Greenfield, this facility houses many government offices as well as the County Council chambers. The beautiful fountains in front of this building are not only aesthetic, but serve as cooling towers for the mechanical system.  The buildings mechanical systems were designed to also provide cooling for the existing courthouse. There is a tunnel for pipe running to the existing courthouse.

The building entrance columns, balconies, and cornice work are made out of cast stone. The casework and millwork as well as the interior doors are all made of cherry.

Meeting rooms are on both levels of this 60,000 s.f., 2 story and full basement structure. The basement serves as storage space for records and the stairwells are accented with glass handrails at the second floor as well as with tray ceilings. A full service elevator serves all floors.
